A note on the coronavirus

Resilience. Adaptability. Solidarity.

After nearly 20 years of working in or with the nation, these are three things I have always admired about China and Chinese people.

As China faces challenges from the coronavirus (COVID-19), these qualities are on display for the world to see. Even though they are working from home, my team of Hot Potters in Shanghai has returned to work alongside around 13 million other people. We also have team members that have safely returned to the UK after Chinese New Year breaks with their family back home.

Despite the practical constraints on travel and mobility – business, life and friendship will continue.

With hundreds of millions of people showing the same resolve I’m again thankful for China’s grit, determination and ability to stand together. The world should be thankful also.

A big shout to the team at Hot Pot China. 加油!
